Gilles, a founder like no other…

Gilles grew up in the family resort of Le Revard and started skiing at an early age. He soon took part in competitions and won many titles. Following a serious accident, he had the idea of improving sports glasses to better adapt them to the needs of athletes. He created Fullsensations and perfected the models in collaboration with other athletes. Today, Fullsensations is a benchmark brand in sports eyewear, combining performance and design, thanks to Gilles’ passion and dedication to his sport and his equipment.

A childhood on the slopes

Born at the foot of Le Revard, it was only natural that he made his debut in this family resort with his parents, who were passionate about skiing.
Gilles starts in competition in La Plagne at the age of 10, he regularly ended on the podium.

A versatile athlete who turns pro

His passion always growing, he returned to sports-studies in Bourg Saint Maurice then in Moûtiers. Member of the ASPTT Chambéry, he became national French PTT Champion in 1982. He was selected for the French city team and finished 3rd in the French championship in 1985.

Wishing to pursue his passion for the mountains and skiing, he did his military service at the 13th BCA in Chambéry. He won the French military national championships in individual and team triathlon during the winter of 1984. He graduated as a national instructor from the French Ski School (ESF) and won several victories at the instructors’ memorials.

He sets sail

Then he passed his state certificate and became a sailing and windsurfing instructor. Always in the spirit of competition, he won many regattas. He participated with Robby Naish in the first windsurfing tour of France and in the French and European championships, representing the CNVA, the club of his hometown of Aix-les-Bains.

The apogee and the wound

He meets Mickael Prüfer, a very good skier friend. Both discuss their future on the skis, Michael will go for the flying kilometer events and will beat several world speed records, Gilles on the pro-ski circuits which will take him to Canada, the United States, America of the South and in Japan where he runs under the colors of Victoria and Lucky strike, unfortunately, it is also there that his professional career stops abruptly following a serious accident during a competition.

Ski, Surf & music in Chile

He moved to Chile to do his long rehabilitation. There he discovered surfing and music with the Chilean Underground movement. He returned to competition and returned to Ski Pro. The mountains calling him, he built with his own hands a wooden chalet “restaurant L’Eclipse” in the resort of Chapa Verde and a project in Arica, a mecca for surfing in Chile.

The passion for Made in France equipment

Always passionate about skiing, he is also passionate about his equipment, throughout his sports career he is sponsored by equipment manufacturers but sometimes the accessories are not always suitable. He thinks sports glasses can be improved. After meeting an eyewear enthusiast in Oyonnax, he began to imagine a brand of sunglasses.

The start of a strong brand !

He dreams of having the ideal model for professionals and mountain and water sports enthusiasts. Glasses that would be perfect for all athletes but also pleasing to the eye and to the face for the general public. He therefore decided to create his models and his brand. Fullsensations was born. He invents his logo on a beach in Grau Agde and tests his glasses with his sailing friends in the spots of Cap Agde.

A new dimension & new partners

For several years, Gilles continues to perfect his models with his friends who are runners, instructors and sportsmen. During his period as an instructor at the ESF in La Plagne, Gilles Arnaud met Gilles Duc, a globe-trotting ski enthusiast who lives in Asia and works for a large multinational agri-food company. Seduced by the Fullsensations glasses that Gilles Arnaud began to develop, they struck up a friendship and thought about marketing these exceptional products. Having lived for a few years in Dubai, Gilles Duc introduces him to Laurent Rigaud, the President of the Savoyards in the United Arab Emirates, who is also the President of the Savoyards of the World. This was followed by a visit to Dubai in 2019 during the Alp’Fest, the annual ski and Savoie event in Dubai, where Gilles Arnaud made contacts and took stock of the export potential for Fullsensations. Laurent Rigaud is in turn conquered by the brand, and decides to join the launch of Fullsensations, in charge of its worldwide distribution.
